If you want a career as a Physical Therapist Assistant but also have an interest in business management, this dual associate degree from Delta College is for you.
About the program
Delta College students have an option to add a second associate degree in General Management to the Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree at the same time.
Students should complete the business course requirements for the dual degree before beginning clinical work as a PTA.
With this dual associate degree, possible careers might include managing other PTAs or running an office, in addition to patient care/clinical work.
The need for physical therapist assistants is expected to grow by 26 percent in Michigan and 41 percent nationwide from 2012 through 2022, largely due to the needs of an older population and the growing rates of chronic conditions such as diabetes and obesity. The average yearly earnings for a PTA is $43,740 in Michigan and $54,410 nationally.
