Course DescriptionPrerequisite: CST 103 or equivalent and e-mail and Internet skills. Develops skills to create and maintain a basic Web page using HTML. Includes text formatting, lists, graphics insertion, tables, and the use of links to other pages. (15-0)

Outcomes and Objectives

Apply HTML to build a basic Webpage.
  1. Enter text into a Web page file.
  2. Format text using heading, bold, and underline tags.
  3. Define text color and size.
  4. Include background colors or images.
  5. Create ordered and unordered lists.
  6. Insert and position a graphic image.
  7. Insert links to other pages.

Apply essential file management to support basic Internet usage.
  1. Initialize the correct file and directory structure to enable Web page access.
  2. Edit web page text using a Unix text editor.
  3. Perform essential file management including the use of folders.

Apply necessary tools and resources for Web page development.
  1. Local on-line resources and information sources for Web page support
  2. Access and upload graphics to a Web page.

Define basic social issues related to Web page usage.
  1. Define issues with privacy and security relative to personal Web page information.
  2. Define copyright issues related to Web page information.
