Course DescriptionPrerequisite: CST 103 or knowledge of the windows operating system. Develops beginning/intermediate skills in presentation and graphic layout for business and education presentations. Includes computer projection and creating of computer generated transparencies and handouts. Focuses on developing attractive, professional, effective, and well- timed visuals for different business settings using computer graphic presentation software. Credit may be earned in CST 147 or CIS 201 but not both. (30-0)


Outcomes and Objectives

Student has developed beginning/intermediate skills in presentation and graphic layout for business and education presentations. To meet this outcome, the student should do the following:
Objectives:
  1. Modify existing presentations: changing existing slides, adding and deleting slides.
  2. Plan presentations
  3. Create presentations
  4. Present presentations

Student has developed a variety of attractive, professional, effective and well-timed visuals for different business and educational settings. To meet this outcome, the student should do the following:
Objectives:
  1. Effectively use Text on slides
  2. Effectively use ClipArt, WordArt and other graphics on slides
  3. Effectively use AutoShapes and other drawings on slides
  4. Effectively include Graphs and Organization Charts in presentations
  5. Effectively use Transition Effects, Build Effects and Animation Effects in presentations
  6. Effectively use Templates and color in presentations
  7. Understand the more advanced concepts such as Multimedia (video and sound) and branching within presentations

Learn how to use PowerPoint 97 presentation software. To meet this outcome, the student should do the following:

  1. Create computer projection presentations
  2. Create computer generated transparencies
  3. Create computer generated presentation handouts and notesP
