Demonstrate how the two dentition are coded.
Objectives:
  1. Name the teeth in the primary and permanent dentition.

  3. Describe the three different dentition in humans, and giving the approximate time periods that they occur in.
  4. Demonstrate the Universal, Palmer and International methods of charting the primary and permanent dentition.

Identify and explain the role of teeth in the primary dentition.
Objectives:
  1. Explain the importance of retaining all primary teeth until mother nature exfoliates them.
  2. State the reason why there is a natural space between the primary teeth.
  3. Explain the three stages of tooth eruption.
  4. Explain what is meant by the following terms:

Objectives:

  4. Locate the proximal contact for each permanent tooth.
  5. State the approximate root length for each permanent tooth.
  6. Identify the shapes and location of the longitudinal grooves on each permanent tooth.
  7. State the kinds of variations most commonly found in each molar and compare these molars with each other.
  8. Identify the root/roots of the molars according to their surfaces.
  9. List the cusp size from the occlusocervical and mesiodistal measurements from the longest to shortest and largest to smallest on the Maxillary and Mandibular 1st and 2nd molars.

  5. State the Hereditary, Systemic and Extrinsic factors that affect occlusion.
  6. Define the terms stated on pages 63 and 64.
